Using a bench PSU to power motors

come to the conclusion that a 24v portable power supply system (x4) is very far out of my league to even start designing so ill probably get a professional to do it at the very end.

For now, i want to power 4 24v motors connnected to an arduino using a bench psu and a L298N board. My idea is power the L298 with the bench PSU, use the board to power the uno and the motor, and then use the pins to control the speed and direction.. Is this viable or am i missing something?

L293 and L298 motor drivers are ancient and very inefficient technology. You will be better off in the long run by selecting proper modern drivers for your motors. Be sure to choose drivers that can handle the stall (starting) current of the motors at the motor supply voltage

Pololu has a good line of driver and they provide instructional pages and customer support for all of their products.

Why not post a proposed schematic, not a frizzy thing showing all connections including power and ground. 24V power supply(s) are not that expensive. You need to tell us what your power requirements are, and post links to technical information on each hardware item including the motors.
