To build a mail box SMS sender. It has a 6 inch antenna connector on the antenna. Can this connector be extended ? If so any idea how far.

Do you mean the aerial (black), or the coaxial connection wire.
Yes, you can buy/use a longer coaxial cable.
No, you can't use a shorter/longer aerial.
Aerials lengths are matched to that GSM frequency band.
What exactly is the problem.
