Using an Arduino for a project, need help

Hi everyone,

I have very little experience with electronics and need some help. I need to control a DC linear actuator. The actuator operates at 12 VDC and draws up to 10A of current. Is there a type of Arduino controller that would work with such a motor?

i don't see why you couldn't, but you'll need to have the arduino control a (rather hefty) transistor.

Not directly you need some sort of driver to boost both the voltage and current.
That is a very large amount of current so as you are a beginner I suggest you get a ready built motor drive. You need to control its direction as well so you need a H-bridge design. You need the drive to be specified at at least 15A if the motor takes 10A.

Is there any already made device compatiable with ardino inputs.

If yes share us link

Typical H-bridges you might could use.
