Using an Auto HeadLight as a Home FloodLight

Just wondering if it was a good idea or not...

I have a headlights and bulbs from an old project car.
They would light up the section of my yard that I'm interested in lighting pretty well.

Seems like it would be pretty straight forward once I get from 110v to 12v (with sufficient current).

Anything I'm missing?

Thanks,

What you are missing is any Arduino content.

The headlight is probably 50 or 60 Watts so you need about 5A at 12V. It doesn't have to be DC so all you need is a 110V->12V step-down transformer rated for 5 Amps (per bulb).

(with sufficient current).

And, that's the issue... Unless you've got a "big" 12V transformer (or power supply) lying around, or unless you've got a good reason for going low-voltage, it's probably not worthwhile.
