using arduino on a network

I have a project to do but im not at a cross roads where I have to turn on and off something from a remote location, I was checking out some forums and they were saying I could talk here in the arduino forum.

I just need to be able to use my computer to turn on or off a relay at my home, how could I do that.

Set up your Arduino as a server and put it on the internet. How you do that depends on your internet service provider (ISP). There are a lot of threads that deal with this. A search will probably turn up something helpful.
