Just an idea I would like to share: An old RC car, striped, reused so that an Arduino + 293 chip can control its engines using a keypad and a small loudspeaker. They seemed interested, it was very fun (at least for me). For next weekend, IR distance sensor, remote control.. Lets see if they can stay away from TV
