Using Arduino to operate USB

Hi guys,

I bought a 4-key keyboard from Aliexpress and I want to connect it to 4 lamps powered by USB.

By pressing on one key its turns on/off one lamp etc.

I have the lamps and the keyboard but wondering how to connect them.

Is it possible to do it with Arduino? Which USB socket do I need to buy?

Thanks a lot.

Not really. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Your links corrected: keyboard ... lamps.

This keyboard connects to a PC, not an Arduino.

And the lamp is not programmable, you just plug it in and it lights up, no control no choice. It actually has nothing whatsoever to do with USB; it merely uses the USB connector - the outer two pins only - as a convenient source of 5 Volt power.

Well, we could say a "host shield". But it really is not worth the (considerable) trouble. If you already have the keyboard, just use it for its intended purpose.

Alright.

Is there any way to get into the keyboard code?

maybe I can make feedback through the keyboard inside lights.

What keyboard code are you talking about ?

You could cut off the USB connector to access the lamp power leads, and use this keyfob to control the lights.
