Using Arduino to save data from sensor to Network folder through Ethernet

Hello forum,

I have coded a light sensor that reads the values of the sensor and the values can be viewed from a server such as http://xx.xx.xxx.xx. I also have coded that you can change the values of parameters for the sensors on the website by adding values in the text boxes and change by clicking a submit button.

Everything works fine but I just wonder if there is a way for me to save data of the sensor only with Ethernet cable connected to my Arduino Leonard. The server is running fine with only Ethernet connected to the Arduino since the Arduino that I have is powered by Ethernet cable.

Is there a way for me to extract data of the sensor from Arduino or http and save it to the Network folder? It can be any data file such as .txt, .csv, etc.

Save the data where?

If your Arduino is acting as a server, which it appears to be if you are using a browser to interact with it, you need to make it act as a client, too, executing scripts on some server that result in data being stored. Exactly how to store the data depends on what language you use to write the script. Exactly where to store the data depends on the operating system on the server.

But, just because the client (browser running on a PC) can see the Arduino, that does NOT mean that the Arduino can interact with that PC as a server.
