with this I would like to create a 10 input selector with which you can select A until J and then number 1 until 10.
If needed it is possible to add an additional arduino or to change out the shield.
I myself was thinking of using the switch with 2 modes to switch between numbers and letters but then again there are 4 buttons. Maybe with double inputs there is a way to make it up to 10.
I would like to hear some ideas.
Thank you in advance for taking your time to read this and possibly helping out with this project.
Sorry but I could not find a link to the shield since it was ordered trough my university and they did not add in a link to the shield. I added in a picture of the shield however which shows the layout of the shield.

The university must have a schematic of the shield. That would be enough as there seems to be no active components on the board.
The A-J and 1-10 are inputs used for the gantry bot to know where to position.
the bot is going to play checkers for the players so with the A-J 1-10 you can select which field will be selected in the playing field
So basically will be send as an input to the PLC of the gantry bot
All you need to do is think binary.. Hold down correct sequence of buttons simutaniously for say one sec to set the first number and then move switch to enter the second in same manner.
Ignoring no buttons pressed gives you 15 values for each mode..
thank you. I will definetly use binary to program the inputs. was kinda getting stuck how to differenciate the different button presses but ofcourse binary works for that.
