I want to use Arduino to turn on the parking lights when the car is unlocked I cant figure out how to simulate the knob turning to parking lights position?
I tried to tap into the wiring harness but I was only able to turn on fog lamps, nothing else.
Any ideas on how to achieve this?
First, you have to know exactly what happens when you turn the knob to the parking light position.

I agree. Be sure wires are power and not data. Sounds like a hardware rather than a software effort.
Do not do it.
Consider whether you should even get into the car if such a simple question raises your doubts. Without knowing how to deal with electricity, it is very easy to start a fire in a car.
