Using ATmega328 without Arduino

Is it possible, that when I have programmed my Arduino Duemilanove, I can remove the ATmega328 chip and use it without the board? I mean just chip + leds + battery ?

This is a frequently asked question. The answer is yes. A search of the forum would have answered the question.

You’ll need a bit more than that. A crystal and a couple of caps. Do some searching.

This pretty much shows you what you need :)

Some things can be omitted under certain situations though depending on what you want to use it for.

Thank you PaulS and mowcius! Sorry for not using the search.

So in conclusion it is better to buy Duemilanove than Nano 3v, because u can make Duemilanove even smaller than Nano is. Also Nano's price is almost double.

I will soon order Duemilanove in custom white color :D Although it is 5 euros more expensive than the original.

The custom colour ones are (as far as I know) not official boards so beware of fakes.
