using bigger stepper motors, drivers and such.

CAN ANYONE RECCOMEND A STEPPER MOTOR CONTROLLER, WITH MICROSTEP. (400 STEP/REV)
IT WILL BE CONTROLLED FROM AN ARDUINO UNO.

POWER SUPPLY IS 12V DC BATTERY; POWER REQUIRED ABOUT 70W
LOAD IS 4 INCH TRACTION WHEEL, SPEED 0 TO 30RPM, LEVEL GROUND, 50 LB WEIGHT CHASSIS.
LCD SPEED DISPLAY REQUIRED.

NEMA 23 STEPPER MOTOR?
SUGGESTIONS WELCOMED

Don't hijack someone's Thread and don't SHOUT.

I have suggested to the Moderator to move your Post to its on Thread.

Post a link to the datasheet for the stepper motor.

I can strongly recommend abandoning the idea of using a stepper motor for traction at all.

Hi Mark T,

Thank you for your advice.
I will look for DC motor/encoder /gearbox drive.
I need 30rpm; 12v/5A motor.

Cheers,

That was my first post on this forum; unfriendly response.
"don't SHOUT" ??
My eyesight requires heavy reading glasses; I always use capitals for my emails.

That seems reasonable - but a brief explanation would have helped to separate you from those who are just looking for attention.

At the same time, my brain finds it very much harder to assimilate the message when the text is all in capitals.

ALL CAPITALS is deemed to be shouting, that's a long established convention in literature and
thus on the internet. If you didn't know that, you have now learned it.
