Sure, you can use many different sensors with an Arduino. Which Arduino? What sensors do you want to use? There are libraries for just about any sensor that you can find to make using them easier. Describe your project and we can help choose the right sensors and libraries to run them.

Sites like Adafruit.com and Sparkfun.com carry large numbers of sensors for Arduino experimentation and also have sample code, too! Just use their site search with the arduino word to see everything.

I don't know how you will measure air quality.
I found some sensors to measure gases but the measurements depends on the temperature and humidity. So you have to make a lot of sensitivity adjustments.
What do you think about this gas sensor ?
