using disposable camera flash unit with arduino help ?

Apology and thanks Boardburner2 for your posts, didn't see page 2.

If you identift the camera you are using get the circuit off the internet and post a link, then i will try to show you how.

I will be using Sunpak Softlite 1400M Flash and have ordered this hot shoe FlashZebra.com: Deluxe Canon Hotshoe to Pocket Wizard, CyberSync or Elinchrom Skyport (Item #0138)
The flash unit uses 2 A++ batteries to operate.
using these two would be similar and simple as this:
Hobby Robotics » Super Simple Camera Flash Trigger
please assist.

Ok , i assumed from. Your post you were going to use the disposable camera.

The second link shows a circuit diagram which should work.

A lot of my comments apply to hacking the cheap disposable camera.

The commercial flash should take care of all the dangerous stuff for you as they are desinged to be used with digital cameras.

I would however recommend that the flash unit is kept away from the arduino as a precaution.
Its possible the high current discharge could couple to unconnected pins etc on the arduino.
