Using Hardware Serial

Hi,

I want to use the Arduino Zero board to send data via a gsm module using the MQTT protocol. However the Zero does not support the software serial library which the code I have found and modified does. How can I change this to work with the Zero?

The main sketch uses this line

SoftwareSerial fonaSS = SoftwareSerial(FONA_TX, FONA_RX);

and calls the function fonaSS in a file called fonahelper.cpp

extern SoftwareSerial fonaSS;

to run further processes e.g.

fonaSS.println("AT+CMEE=2");

How would I change this to work with the hardware serial?

and calls the function fonaSS in a file called fonahelper.cpp

fonaSS is NOT a function. It is NOT called.

You can change the fonahelper.cpp file to contain:

extern HardwareSerial fonaSS;

and initialize fonaSS appropriately.

   HardwareSerial fonaSS = &Serial;
