using hex arduino for atmega8 without arduino hardware

i found a program for writting text on TV and i compiled to hex with ardunio and i burn to a atmega8 with

fusebit H:0xc9 and L:0xff know atmega8 not working why?

Please provide code, schematics and some info about the programmer you used to burn fuse.

Which program did you find. If it is written for the ATmeg328P, it might not work with an ATmega8.

When you use the Arduino IDE and a programmer, you can select the "Arduino NG or older" and upload the sketch using a programmer. That way also the fuses are set (for an external 16MHz crystal).
