Using LM35 and MLX90614 Temperature sensors

Can someone tell me which among the two (LM35 and MLX90614) temperature sensors would be apt for monitoring the temperature of an object placed within 1-2 inch (Temperature ranges about 70-80 C). What differences would be there in the measurements in using these sensors?

Those are two totally different sensors. The LM35 measures the temperature of the body of the LM35. So it must be touching the object being measured with good thermal contact.

The MLX is an infrared remote sensor. It measures the temperature of the surface of the object it's looking at, with about a 90-degree field of view. The surface temperature may not be the object temperature. (The surface of the Sun is much hotter than the core. Your skin is always colder than your core.)

Thank you! But I was wondering I read somewhere that LM35 is a non contact sensor. Kindly correct me if I am wrong.
