Using midi file to trigger actuators (To play real drums) from pc to arduino ?

Hi Guys,

I'm a complete Arduino noob, would this project be feasible at all ? I want to use a midi file to trigger linear actuators to hit an actual drum (small hand toms), I want this to happen in real-time. Is this possible with an Arduino ? What else would I need ?

Did you ever get the midi to acoustic drum setup working? I need to do the same thing for my band. Would you offer any tips? I know nothing about set up so go easy on me.
