In my doorbell project, I want to use a MKR1000 and insert it in a regular doorbell circuit. I want the MKR1000 to power itself from the installed doorbell itself. I have two questions:
- Doorbells commonly run between 8 and 24 volts, what is the most effective/safe way to step it down to the 3.3 volts MKR1000 needs to power itself?
- The circuit is not powered until doorbell button is pushed. How do I give continuous power to MKR1000 from the doorbell circuit?
- I want my MKR1000 to control the chime (whether or not to ring) when the doorbell button is pushed, but I can't get my head around it (I am a newbie). Can you give me some idea how such a functionality can be achieved?
