Using plc input to start position on a ssc-32u

Hi I am new to Arduino and I am building a project using a an Arduino ardbox. A plc will give the ardbox an input and I want to send a string to a ssc-32u robotic arm. I understand the programming technique needed for the positions but have no idea how to set up the Arduino program. I have gone through multiple forums and I am getting more confused. Do I need to list all command in void setup as in p and t for positions for the position commands? I want to do a simple program where the ardbox input receives signal from plc and sends outs the command string for the robot to move position. I am lost at the moment!!
