Which board to I select form the TOOLS - BOARD menu to upload ?
Like a lot of others I get the warnings:
stk500-getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
stk_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51
I assume I am selecting the wrong board - just trying the blink LED sketch.
My Arduino has the writing Seeeduino Mega V1.1 06/24/2009 and main IC says ATMEGA1280

You select the Arduio Mega board, it has the same processor and runs at the same speed.
You also have to select the proper serial port AFTER you plug in the board to your PC.

Also, make sure the reset switch is turned on Automatic, that's the switch that has an M and A (manual and automatic)

Depends on what data you are looking for. Almost everything mentioned for the Arduino Mega applies to the Seeeduino Mega. Seeeduino does have a tech support forum where you can post questions:
