I am gonna have to bail on trying to use structures with an array inside

typically there would be a struct that describes a event and there would be an array of structs.

the struct might include event data as well as a timestamp

In maintaining the index I will need to have some sort of increment counter that advances
the "index value" by one each time another temp value is sent into the array?
