Using the HC-SR04 Ultrasonic distance sensor, interference experiences?

I'm planning to build a project with some HC-SR04 Ultrasonic distance sensors and just want to know what type of interferences you guys has experienced with this product.

In my case, these babies will be close to a quite loud 2-stroke engine and its muffler. Big robot plans? :wink: May this cause an interference? I have understood that they can interference with each other, but have anyone found more objects/sounds that causes interference?

Yes, there will likely be some interference. I can sometimes "trick" mine just by dangling my key-chain. After all, these things go for $2 on eBay, so you can't expect them to be industrial grade. Test them out...they are cheap. Also, I thing you posted in the wrong forum.
