I am sort of surprised that you are getting 5v there.
I thought that the OpenCM board was 3.3v, logic, but might just be bad memory...

Should note: I have used the openCM with these boards and have driven
12v servos with them. Will get back to playing after my replacement arrives
(although will probably do it on the existing 2 and use the 4 for other
playing

You remembered correctly about OpenCM using 3.3 V, my 485 has gone “partially” bad so the 5V pin is leaking over its neighbor the 3.3V pin (I think). So this particular 485 will probably not work with an OpenCM-904 any more.
