using wireless methods

Hi,
New to the arduino environment but am really geeking out on the possibilities offered by the product. I have an idea that may be accomplished but wanted your opinions first. wireless is the key here, I want to use two boards one an UNO and the other a MICRO. I want the UNO to use send an output of 1011 for example to the MICRO and have the micro trigger a response like move a servo to 180 position. then another code sent (1010) to return the servo to the 0 position. does that see possible and will the ARDUINO MICRO work for this? will the MICRO work with say the RFID components? will the MICRO be able to control the servo if i add an external power supply for the servo? just to start thanks for your time.

Yes, what you want can be achieved.
However, note this: If you want the two boards to communicate with variable data across a distance, then you shouldn't use RFID. Instead use, e.g., Xbee or other wireless transmission method.
Or to keep it very inexpensive ($2-3), assuming the two modules will be in line of sight from each other, you can use an infrared emitter on the sender and an infrared receiver on the receiver.

the components will not be more then two feet from each other at any given time and is Ir supported on the MICRO? that is good to know it can be done. they will also be line of sight if they need to be

I've discovered recently that this is an incredibly easy way to use IR communication http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,10555.0.html

I looked at your post and thank you. I am wroking on understanding all of this and think i get a pretty good idea of how it all works I am just not sure my brain and the reality of all this meet up. lol ... so i am building my options up and my knowledge. I will be ordering my arduino parts next weekend I think.

ok so far I am thinking i will go with the ir method and use the micro for the receiver end. I am also going to add a few temp sensors to trigger an event depending on the temp. what i need to understand now is (how do i connect multiple components to the 5v pin each board?) the UNO and the MICRO both have the 5v pin but only the one. I know this is a dumb and noob question but I really am that new to this and learning "hands on" so to say.

Following up to this post, is it possible to send/receive data/instructions an arduino UNO with a multii wii Pro board?
