Usongshine Stepper Motor Driver TB6600 with Arduino Mega

I have code using the L298N driver running. The issue is over heating. Is it feasible to use the Usongshine as a direct replacement? Or do I need to provide a pulse train and direction? I have not been able to get this clarified.

The TB6600 uses the step\dir interface so you will have to change code written for L298. As to the TB6600 suitability, I can't say without seeing a data sheet for the stepper motor.
