Utilizing both a Load cell and a Muscle sensor in conjunction

I am required as part of a project in my masters to create a device utilizing the Arduino Microcontroller. I was thinking of utilizing a Load cell in conjunction with an muscle sensor to observe the electrical signal across a muscle group as a function of force applied. Calibrating the load cell would be relatively easy but I am finding it hard to think of a way to calibrate the muscle sensor. I was originally thinking of attaching the muscle sensor to the muscles of the forearms and then using the load cell to measure the strength of someones grip, while also correlating that to muscle potential. Does anyone have an idea of whether it would be feasible ?

Why do you need a calibration? The values you get will only be relevant if compared to a value of the same sensor in the same setup anyway as there is no standard for muscle activity as there is one for weight (kilogramm) or force (N).

Hey pylon, thanks for the reply. I guess you are right, I was definitely overthinking it, I will calibrate the load cell and just read off the values off the muscle sensor. Thanks for the information.
