Hello all!
This is my first post on this forum after a couple of years of lurking, so thank you so much for all the insigtfull project ideas and troubleshooting solutions!
I've come so far in my hobby that I'm studying selfsustained devices, in my case solar energy harvesting and utilization, and have a question to this regard.
I've salvaged a Samsung Battery, as shown below.
In my quest of completely taking advantage of Samsungs technology, something came into mind when I began studying the 4 terminals these kind of batteries has.
I've read this informative page which explain the different connector pinout of a mobile phone. The BSI (Battery status/size indicator) is the one I want to measure in some way, where the measurement of resistance indicates which type of battery it is (and capacity), for the IC on the phone to indentify.
If I utilize this knowledge I assume I don't need to implement a voltage divider to check the voltage to get an idea of the remaining power in the battery.
Is it possible to get information about battery capacity from the BSI pin on the Samsung battery and if so, how do I do it? Perhaps a lookup table to identify type and remaining power status?
Thanks in advance!
