VDIP1 current draw

I'm considering the purchase of a VDIP1 usb circuit as a data logging interface for an ATMega328p project. As others have noted, the VDIP1 documentation is skimpy.

Can anyone report on the current draw requirements of this device?

This reply came very quickly from the FTDI support email:

"Since the VDIP1 is an embedded USB Host controller , it will need to supply at least 100 mA to the host port. For the VDIP1 only (no slave device attached), current draw is 25 mA."
