It appears that Addafruit no longer sells this board although the 6070 is available with little support.
I wonder why and cannot find a satisfactory answer.
The 6075 would appear to be ideal for an integrating UV dosimeter for medical use,
(PUVA Phototherapy), or possibly UVB therapy.
Current existing sensors such as the 6070 just report an index and not the irradiance which is important for dose calculation.
The manufacturers of UVA and UVB tubes publish their emission spectra so providing the name of the manufacturer is known it should be easy to calibrate for known tubes.
If this has been discussed before i would appreciate links.
Check the document provided by the "PCN Obsolescence/ EOL VEML6075 21/Feb/2019" link on the Digikey product page (you need to sign up for a vishay.com account to get the document from the manufacturer website):
Thank you.
Any ideas on a replacement solution ?
Lots of sensors out there but i cannot solder them , i am reliant on pre produced shields that i can work with.
I'm pretty good at Internet archaeology, but not so much when it comes to parts recommendations.
My technique for identifying parts of interest is usually to do a search on eBay and look for the part a lot of different people are selling in a hobbyist friendly form (e.g., breakout board or dev board). Even if I don't actually plan to buy it on eBay, that usually quickly gives me the name of the "jelly bean" parts in the hobbyist/maker space, which are likely to have the best support from the Arduino community.
