I have three windows machines, and while the 022 IDE works on an older xp 32 machines, it doesn't work on either of my 64 bit machines.
I have read numerous post, all with similar problems, and have not read anyone describe what the definitive problem is, which is surprising because the issues seems pretty wide spread on 64 bit windows machines..
Anyway heres what I have done.
-
Install the 022 build.
-
Install drivers on both a windows 7, and vista, 64 bit machines.
-
Get the same problem, and the ide shuts down with a cryptic error,
"An unknown error occurred while trying to load platform-specific code. -
Tried installing 32, and 64 bit JRE's, and JDK with no results.
As I mentioned I have researched a solution, , and while I found very little info with the newer builds, I did find a knowledgeable post about getting an older build up and ruining and was able to load and execute a sketch, onto the board. Unfortunately, the old, #13 build, doesn't support my newer UNO board very well, so this is not a viable option, but it does show the OS, drivers, and board, are functioning correctly, and the issues is something to do with the 022 build, which I'm fairly certain is not configured correct to run on 64 bit machines.
I'm Software engineer, and am more then willing to work with someone who has Arduino knowledge to get this straightened out.
