HI
I want to measure light levels with a photo resistor. now I have many photoresistors with different base resistance. is it better to use a low resistance to measure low light levels? the one I tried now doesnt indicate anything until I shine a bright light on it..
or would it even need some amplifier circuit? transistor etc?
thanks
A photodiode and transconductance amplifier could be a way to go.
Show us a good image of your ‘actual’ wiring.
Show us a good schematic of your proposed circuit.
Give links to components.
I strongly recommend starting out with a module like this one: Adafruit TSL2591 High Dynamic Range Digital Light Sensor [STEMMA QT] : ID 1980 : $6.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits (can easily measure starlight) or this one: Adafruit VEML7700 Lux Sensor - I2C Light Sensor [STEMMA QT / Qwiic] : ID 4162 : $4.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits (less sensitive).
