Buzzers are made to beep, but I was wondering if there is some way I could make piezzo buzzer vibrate? I need it for some tactile device and small dc motors consume a lot of energy. One is not the problem but 10 is.
You've got a couple of things going against you...
Piezos don't work that well at low frequencies. Small things are not good at making low-frequencies (woofers vs. tweeters, tigers vs. kittens). And, piezos are essentially capacitors and it's "hard" to get lots of current (required for power) through a (small) capacitor at low frequencies.
So could I, theoretically, use this buzzer http://www.proelectronic.rs/BUZER-PE2728W-BUZER-PE2728-3093.htm as a vibration unit?
See where it says "FREKVENCIJA: 2.8 KHz". That means it's peak output
is for a 2.8 Khz driving frequency. That's pretty standard for piezos,
altough they will make some lesser noise down to 100 hz or so.
Best thing is to simply get a buzzer, wire it up, and see if it does what
you want.
