VIN has output? i'm scared to break my arduino.

Hello everyone,

I just connected the output 5v from my MotorController to the VIN from arduino uno.
And a ground to a ground.

This works perfect.
But when i connect the USB cable to arduino and do not turn on the MotorController arduino uno powers the motor controller through his VIN can this damage my uno?

That motorController and the vin is connected to the v5 at the blue port on the MotorControllor

So yeah does this break my arduino?

Or do i need to remove the VIN vable when connecting with USB?
