I am trying to work with the ATMega2560. So far I have only used the blink example to as a learning tool. I use it to run Arduino IDE and Visual Micro in Atmel Studio 6.2 and Visual Studio 2013.
The first thing I found was that a file named PluggableUSB would occasionally disappear and all three would packages would no longer compile the BLINK example and the Arduiono IDE does not re-load after I exit the IDE. I have to reinstall the Arduino IDE to get anything to work. This has happened several times.
The second thine I found that Visual Micro quite downloading in programs. Downloading worked for a while then suddenly quit. The message was:
System wide configuration file is “C:\Drive_Z\arduino\hardware\tools\avr/etc/avrdude.conf”
Using Port : usb
Using Programmer : arduinoisp
avrdude: Error: Could not find USBtiny device (0x2341/0x49)
I am aware that the ATTiny device is used as the USB to Serial Interface on the ATMega2560 device. Also, the avrdude.conf identifies Tiny as the Device Type for the arduinoisp programmer.
So far I have not been able to find an answer to the problem.
OOPS: PluggableUSB.h has just disappeared and the Arduino IDE doesn’t load.
