Visual problem with IDE

I currently am not able to see the IDE in order to code. It's very difficult to see the gray against green in particular, but I'm also unable to predictably change the size of the text. This leaves me in a bind, and I'm sure that many others have had this issue. I'm using a Windows machine win 11, on a Microsoft surface laptop. I'm just looking for better visibility options that are either built in, or bolted on with someone else's solution. Thank you for reading to the end of this.

Hi @ahohman. Which version of the Arduino IDE are you using?

I haven't noticed that particular color combination. Please post a screenshot of it.

Please provide a detailed description of what you tried and the results that did not match your expectations.

Arduino IDE 1.x doesn't have any built-in alternatives as far as colors go.

There are some 3rd party themes available though. It might be that one of them will meet your needs. I'll share the list of the ones I'm aware of:

Arduino IDE 2.x does have multiple themes to choose from. However, it is still in the beta development phase and so it is not really well suited to everyday use for writing sketches. Even so, at least there is sign of a better future for those how find the original Arduino IDE theme to be unsuitable.
