VMUSIC + simple speaker

Hello,

I'm using a VMUSIC module with Arduino for a project, but instead of connecting a computer audio kit to the VMUSIC (as I always do), I would like to use a simple speaker.

I really sucks at wiring things, and I am wondering if this could work:

I am supposed to power something with the arduino +5v ?

Hi,
will not work with the speaker from the conrad link.
The vmusic can drive headphones directly which usually have an impedance of 32 Ohms. Your speaker has only 8!

I once had a set of speakers (not some sort of battery powered amp) that can be plugged into an headphone outlet but they sounded absolutley horrible!

I would rather spend my money on a more expensive set of speakers.
The "JBL on tour" sounded very convinicing, but I almost got a heart attack when asking for the price :o

Thanks for your reply.

Actually I'm looking for a speaker that can be embedded in a small box, so I don't really except a good sound quality. All I want is something that can be powered by Arduino and plugged into the Vmusic...

What do you suggest?

Hi,

What do you suggest?

Go to any shop in your neigbourhood that sells mp3-players. They will have some cheap spekers for them too.

I bought USB speakers, cut the usb plug and wired the cables to the arduino +5v and GND pins. It works fine... Thanks for your tips.
