I managed to get my LED to finally turn on and off on command and keep track of it's state too.

I need to calibrate the Mac Speech Recognition system a bit more.
The devil is in the detail, this suggests theres a bit more than an Arduino and some code in the equation. 
there's a few pieces of script involved.

i mumble alot, but im using my g1 to control the bot and since android has Google's awesome speech rec it can decipher my mumblings
