I have purchased a few months ago the Voice Recognition Module by geeetech.
I want to use this module to let it recognize only my own voice.
I saw this can be done using a good microphone but I do not know which one I should use?
I am currently using the WM-61 which considred to be good enough, but maybe - not enough,
because I have tested it with my friend and the Voice Recognition Module couldn't notice a
difference in our voice.
Quote from the geeetech DataSheet: "If your friend speaks the voice instruction instead of you, it may not identify the instruction. Please
note that speaker independence requires strictly good MIC. The MIC we supply is not good enough for it to be speaker-independent."
The program was to light 3 LED's so when I said "Red" it turned on and than for example I said "Dark" and it shut down and than my friend came and said "Red" and the LED turned on
In the Wiki page & DataSheet they wrote specifically that I can use my own voice with a good microphone:

You are reading that bass-ackwards.
It says it might not be voice independent with a cheap mic. A better mic might makek it more voice independent.
Speech recognition and voice recognition are two different technologies.
Can you or someone explain what are the differences between a voice recognition module to a speech recognition module?
What did you mean by "bass-ackward"? Did you mean backwards but used slang?
And what does it mean exactly "speaker independence"?
I am confused with this.
There's no speaker here, only a microphone.
Maybe they meant and referred by speaker, to me - that I speak and it need to recognize only my independent voice...
What did you mean by "bass-ackward"? Did you mean backwards but used slang?
[/quote[Sorry. Yes, slang. It means backwards, or reversed... People say, "Ass-backwards", "Back-asswards", or "Bass-ackwards". By saying "Bass", you avoid the slightly offensive word "ass".
I have red an article about the differences between voice & speech recognition technologies and I understood that voice recognition is exactly what the module of geeetech supposed to do.
Ok.
So let me get this straight, you're saying that the worser the microphone I have, the closest I get to make it work exclusively using my OWN voice?
Is it even possible to make it work using exclusively with my OWN voice?
Because that is what I want to achieve...
If someone has a voice that "sounds" similar to yours the module will have a greater chance of reacting to it. My son and I have similar sounding voices, both this module and the EasyVR module will react to either of our voices almost all the time even though I'm the one who trained them. These modules aren't the highest of quality in there recognition process. The mic supplied with the unit works just fine.
It will work better than a high quality mic for only reacting to your voice. With the downside of having to say the word or phrase "exactly" as you trained it. If you trained it to recognize the word "red" with a hard sounding "d" then you will have trouble getting it to respond to red spoken with a soft "d". Making the trained word spoken in an unusual way will help ensure that you are the only one that can command the module.
So let me get this straight, you're saying that the worser the microphone I have, the closest I get to make it work exclusively using my OWN voice?
No not quite. The worse quality the more specific to the training it becomes. However the worse the quality the worse it is at differentiating words anyway.
Is it even possible to make it work using exclusively with my OWN voice?
No.
I think your expectations of this produce are way out of line with what it can deliver.
