Voice Recognition with EasyVR 3 Shield and Arduino Uno

Hi

I’m a newbie here. Hope this is the right forum for this.

I’m using the EasyVR 3 Shield with an Arduino Uno. This shield is for voice recognition and I’m using it to turn a light strip on and off. I’ve got it working fine using the tutorial provided with the EasyVR 3 manual.

The shield itself comes with a tiny LED that blinks to “acknowledge” it heard a word in it’s dictionary. But I’m putting the whole setup inside a plastic box. I’d like to connect an LED to pin 7 (for example) that will be visible through a whole in the box. Ideally this LED would be the “acknowledgement” LED that blinks.

Does anyone have experience with this shield and how to code with it?
I’m happy to upload the code I’ve got so far in case it would help (it’s quite a bit of code that inserted by the EasyVR library).

Thanks,
Damian

The shield itself comes with a tiny LED that blinks to "acknowledge" it heard a word in it's dictionary.

Doesn't that then cause the Arduino to do something? Wouldn't that be a good point to turn an LED on?
