void loop problem

im a complete noob when it comes to arduino.

Ive got a led to blink using the arduino code in the library but now i cant make it stop. is there a way i can void a loop of something to make certain pins do nothing as i know you cant just reset the pins. i just want the led to stop and start from nothing again

I'm not sure what you mean when you say you want it to "start from nothing again".

You can add a counter. Say you want it to blink 100 times, then stop.
When you reset, it will start blinking again.

from what I understand, you have successfuly uploaded the following software to your arduino:

// the setup routine runs once when you press reset:

// initialize the digital pin as an output.
pinMode(led, OUTPUT);
}

// the loop routine runs over and over again forever:
void loop() {
digitalWrite(led, HIGH); // turn the LED on (HIGH is the voltage level)
delay(1000); // wait for a second
digitalWrite(led, LOW); // turn the LED off by making the voltage LOW
delay(1000); // wait for a second
}

In order to turn off led for the runtime, you have to eliminate the part "digitalWrite(led,HIGH);"
Or if you don't even need the led on the board, you can turn it off by removing it from the setup function "pinMode(led, OUTPUT);"

Just upload a blank sketch and Arduino pins will “stay still”.
