Voltage divider Vout Pin drops after connecting to OPTA analog pin

Unlike most Arduinos which have very high input resistances, the Opta has a low input resistance of 8.9kΩ.

Here is an extract from the datasheet:

I assume that there is already a potential divider in the Opta to give it the 0 - 10V range.
