Wanna make smart piggy bank but got coding problem

I'm trying to make smart piggy like this DIY Coin Sorting and Counting Bank From Cardboard I Arduino Project - YouTube
But I have a bit different material
I have only 1 sensor which is an e18d80nk sensor
aside from that, I don't have a resistor at all
but everything seems to work fine but I just have a coding problem
I tried using the same code in the video but the value keep adding up even though the sensor detects nothing like the total keep going up from 0 to 1000 when I haven't even inserted any coin and that's the problem any idea, I think the fact that i have different sensor and only 1 sensor is the problem or maybe it's circuit problem which i'll provide a little picture which isnt quite clear first picture is 5v pin connected to breadboard first one is from adruino board 5v pin second and third is sensor and lcd

btw i'm completely new to adruino and i have to do this for school project otherwise i'll fail this subject and i have to submit this project tomorrow

We don't do school projects so people can get grades they don't earn. so I guess your just too late.

Next time start your project with sufficient time to learn what you need to learn.
