Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4 Won’t Boot with 7~36V DC Input

Hi everyone,

I’m using the ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4 board and I’ve encountered an issue when trying to power it via 7~36V DC input.

When I power it via USB Type-C, it turns on, and pressing the BAT_PWR button starts the demo.

But when using 7~36V DC, the power LED and display turn on, but the ESP32 doesn’t boot.

Has anyone faced this issue before? Is there a way to configure it to boot automatically with DC input, or do I need to modify something (e.g., clearing the demo program, DC changes more than 9 , 12)?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Did you press the BAT button at the top left corner in the above picture? If that is not it, then the 7-36VDC PSU does not supply enough power.

Sorry, bad photos. Can't read the important stuff

Thanks for the reply, yes I pressed the BAT_PWR button but nothing happens. I have also tested the 9V and 12V DC inputs.

Thanks for reply,
I have tested the 9 and 12 VDC inputs, but only the display backlight and power light come on, and the demo does not run, unlike when using only Type-C.

Is there a reason you can't continue to use the USB connection, but instead of connecting it to your computer, connect it to a 5VDC powerbank of at least 2,000mAh

hello , did you figure it out ? i got a 0-15v max 3A power supply and it's not working when powered with it !
