Hi all,

I have an old Weather Station with outdoor and indoor unit. Screen of indoor unit which is base is broken, but its PCBs are in working condition. So I have found a receiver PCB inside it with the part no SL-RX585 and it has three wires which is connected to main PCB. What I want to do is to receive weather information from outdoor unit to my PC, at least to show information in my console with use of this receiver PCB.

I have connected A-D-C wires of receiver to my PL-2303 USB TTL amusing that A is GND D is RX and C is TX. and I am getting some data from receiver which I can`t decode it. I am receiving data when outdoor unit makes transfer (red light comes on). I use Realterm console software for to log incoming data through USB < PL2303 < SL-RX585.

I have tried many Realterm settings combinations (1600bps, 1200 bps) and currently I am getting some unreadable data.

Please give me some idea how can I convert this data to readable format incoming from that unit.

Weather station RF remotes are all encoded with proprietary methods, but many have been decoded. The usual way to figure out what you have is to first examine the transmissions with Audacity on a laptop.
