do you have some 4.7 k or 10k resistors ?
I2C requires that the lines be pulled high with some resistors.
only need one set of resistors for the whole I2C set of devices.
the sizing changes as you connect more devices.

as a note, the FIND sketch does nothing but to make sure your device is actually connected.
once you know you have all the wires and bits right, it will report that a device is connected.
that is all that it does.
once you know your device is connected, then you have to load a different sketch. one that will actually read the device.
it is a two step process.
