Sorry but I am a noob and I don't know what you can do with Arduino yet, but I was wondering if someone could give me a list of all the things you can use the Arduino for to control a motor.
Thank you in advanced!
anything from a quadcopter to a steel rolling mill...
anything in particular you had on mind?
regards
Allan
I'm using DC motors and stepper motors to control pumps
OK - how might an arduino be useful? Variable speed? programmed on/off times?

Yes variable speed, off and on by a switch, running for a couple hours or a day at most. Its gotta stay cool and keep the motor thats connected to the pump head cool as well. I am trying to find something I can use to replace my stepper motor controllers. I don't know exactly what my stepper motor controller controls but it keeps everything cool. I believe controllers vary by how much amps or voltage go to the motor. Maybe you can explain to me what those do as well.

I could start typing now, by next Christmas, I may have covered most of the things.
Could you explain to me if I can use a Arduino board to replace my stepper motor controllers? Can you explain to me what a stepper motor controller actually controls?
Yes an Arduino can be used to control stepper motors.
A stepper motor controller actually controls stepper motors.
If you Google 'Arduino' in front of another word, example 'stepper motor' you are inundated with great links.
