What devices to use - multiple sensors connect to a base unit for wifi?

I am very new to Arduino and just trying to learn as much as possible. One hurdle I am having is even selecting the right sensors / units to use. Basically I want to have:

  • Multiple sensors in the same room (ones that can tell movement or tilt and connect to a display like oLED)
  • Those sensors speak to a main hub when something happens (lets the hub know something happened)
  • That hub sends info to an api through eithernet
  • If something is changed from the web app and sent to the hub, it will update the sensors as well.

So what I thought I need is

  • ARDUINO ETHERNET SHIELD 2 for the hub
  • UNO R3 with accelerometer and LCD module 3.5 inch TFT LCD screen 3.5 "

This seem right? The remote units I want small as possible so they dont need to connect to wifi themselves, just connect to the the hub and that connects to the units and updates them. Is there and tutorials on how to do something like this? Seems like a common use case.

Do your remote units need to connect to the hub by wires or by wireless?

If you want a wireless connection this Simple nRF24L01+ Tutorial may be of interest.

I would need the remotes to be wireless

Then have you studied my link? Does it provide a solution?
