Error compiling.

enabled in File > Preferences.

this error shows up when i try to compile my sketch

Try deleting and "reinstalling."

Sometimes it isn't clear why this problem occurs.

Delete the C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Arduino15\ directory and re-install Ardiuino 1.6.4.
