What do I need?  X10 and Ethernet Integration

Hi All,
First post! New to the arduino world and look for what I need to get started on a project.

I would like to use a simple RF remote (possibly from my X10 collection) to enable my motion sensing and recording capabilities of my linksys wireless cameras (WVC54GCA).

Looks like I will need either an ethernet or wifi shield, an RF receiver, what else?

For coding, I will give it a stab, but where is best to hire some help, rentacoder? Functionality - If the on/off is pressed on the RF remote, launch code that will login to each of my linksys html interfaces and enable/disable the motion detection checkbox and save the setting.

Thanks, look forward to getting started on this.

Is there a particular reason to use an RF remote - rather than a IR (TV) remote? Not line of sight? There are many examples here for IR remote interfaces and it's probably a simpler interface.

BTW, if your RF remote is being used in an X10 system you can interface the Arduino to the PSC05 x10 transceiver and read the RF commands off the powerline.

Welcome

Exactly, no line of sight.
I would like to be able to disarm it outside my door before entering so that it won't record my entry.

I am looking into the PSC05. Looks like a lot of people have done this after searching around.

Thanks!

Your site is great, nice work! http://brohogan.blogspot.com/
